Why Union Free?

We firmly believe that CFC is a great place to work, whether you’re just starting out or want to make it your career. Our culture is built around team members who care about each other, as well as the people we serve every day.

A big part of the success of that culture is our open communications with each other. Every team member has the right and the opportunity to talk with any other team member, from the newest hire to the highest executive, about any workplace related topic. Suggestions are always taken seriously. And doors are always open for discussions about personal growth, new challenges, and even difficulties that might arise. Every team member has individual wants, wishes and needs, and deserves personal attention for each.

Because of that, we don’t believe a union is right for CFC. Many of our managers, human resource professionals, and executives have had some experience with unions outside of CFC, and we do not believe that having a union is in your best interest or ours. We really don’t think that our team members should have to pay an outsider a fee or dues to become involved in our relationships with team members.

We believe that our team members want to think, speak, and act for themselves. With a union, the open culture of CFC would change. Your ability to be an individual and succeed based on your own merit and hard work might be compromised.

We feel so strongly about this that we will always vigorously strive to preserve an environment where you always feel comfortable bringing your questions and concerns directly to your Supervisor, Store Management, or Human Resources, and to always work together as a team.
